About Me
I’m Riley Mulcahy—a consultant, writer, and nonprofit executive who helps mission-driven organizations turn values into strategy and ideas into action.
As the Executive Director of The RILEY Project, I lead work at the intersection of storytelling, fundraising, and community-centered design, supporting neurodivergent youth and families while navigating the real operational challenges nonprofits face: growth, sustainability, clarity, and trust. That experience shapes how I partner with organizations—practically, strategically, and with an eye toward long-term impact.
My work spans fundraising and donor communications, marketing and messaging, event and community-building strategy, and organizational development. I’m especially drawn to projects where systems matter—where accessibility, inclusion, and outcomes need to be designed intentionally, not layered on after the fact. I bring a systems-level lens to help teams break down silos, align stakeholders, and build structures that actually support the people they serve.
One of my current long-term projects, Gather San Mateo, is a case study in progress: an exploration of how physical space, social enterprise, and nonprofit collaboration can come together to support neurodivergent communities. While Gather is a future-facing initiative, it reflects how I think about design, partnerships, governance, and sustainability in practice.
Alongside my consulting and nonprofit leadership, I write and speak regularly—sharing insights on neurodiversity, belonging, and systems change through Substack, LinkedIn, and live conversations. Writing is where I test ideas; consulting is where those ideas meet reality.
I work with a limited number of organizations on consulting engagements, advisory roles, and strategic partnerships. If you’re looking for a thought partner who understands both the mission and the mechanics, I’d welcome the conversation.
